Looking for Sliding Scale Therapy for Identity Support, Sex, Relationships, and Trauma?

Meet Emily, therapist-in-training!

About Emily McAfee (she/her):

"Hello! I am a Master’s candidate in Social Work at the University of Denver, focusing on family systems and individual counseling. My other social work passions include restorative justice and environmental justice.

Originally from Oklahoma City, I received my bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. In my free time, I enjoy watching TV with my partner, painting, collaging, reading, and volunteering as a restorative justice facilitator with Restorative Denver.

I believe that sex is an excellent tool for connection and intimacy, and that for many it is also an exciting creative outlet. I will work with my individual clients to address sexual trauma, cultivate a positive self-image around sexuality, understand needs and wants in sexual relationships, improve existing relationships, and work through any other presenting problems. Working with couples and partners, I will help to address mistrust, sexual trauma, problems with intimacy, relationship conflict, navigating sex during and after life transitions, and any other relationship or sexual concerns.

My specialties include LGBTQ+ support, coming out, healing after infidelity, polyamory and non-monogamy, navigating sex as a person with a disability, kink and BDSM, and religious trauma.

As a sex therapist/social work trainee, I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to share their experiences and concerns. I hope to work together to address concerns and improve the quality of intimate relationships."

As an intern, Emily is able to offer sliding-scale therapy sessions. Please reach out to emily@courtneybilbreylcsw.com for more information. Alternatively, you can book a free 20-min consult with Emily here.
